Copec S.A.

Standardized bunkering procedure for ship-to-ship fuel transfer, approved by Chile's Maritime Authority.

The Challenge

Copec needed a standardized bunkering procedure for ship-to-ship fuel transfer operations. Maritime regulations required documented safety protocols before operations could proceed.

The procedure had to cover every stage of the transfer: pre-operation checks, hose connection, fuel flow monitoring, emergency shutdown, and spill response. The Maritime Authority required a rigorous submission before granting authorization.

Our Solution

We developed the complete bunkering procedure for Copec's ship-to-ship fuel transfer operations. The document covers pre-operation safety checklists, equipment inspection protocols, hose connection and disconnection sequences, fuel flow monitoring, and emergency shutdown procedures.

We included spill prevention measures, communication protocols between vessels, and crew responsibility assignments for every phase of the transfer. The procedure was prepared and submitted to the Maritime Authority.

The Maritime Authority approved the procedure. Copec was authorized to operate.
