The Challenge
Biolift's 12 salmon farm sites lacked centralized visibility into weather conditions. Operations managers relied on manual spreadsheet updates each morning, and critical weather changes were discovered too late for effective response. Storm conditions could damage equipment before teams even knew conditions had deteriorated -- a regulatory and safety risk across the entire operation.
Our Solution
We started with an operational diagnosis of Biolift's weather monitoring workflow across all 12 sites. After mapping data collection procedures and alert escalation gaps, we built a real-time meteorological dashboard that aggregates weather station data every 15 minutes, triggers SMS and email alerts when operational thresholds are breached, and provides centralized visibility to the operations team.
"We went from checking spreadsheets every morning to having real-time visibility across all sites. The storm alerts alone have saved us from at least three potential equipment losses this season."
